BAPA created the Teen Services Corps for students in grades 7–12 to learn about our community, give back, grow as individuals, and develop leadership skills.

With the help of volunteers and community partners, BAPA works year-round to maintain and enhance the beauty of the community and promote conservation. BAPA started the Old House Lecture Series to bring neighbors together for the love of old homes. It is an educational series that tours around the neighborhood focusing on restoration and historical preservation. We aim to highlight the importance of our unique and historic homes and provide resources to help our neighbors maintain them.
BAPA works closely with the Chicago Police Department and Alderman Matt O’Shea’s office on public safety and crime prevention initiatives. We are dedicated to keeping Beverly/Morgan Park safe and beautiful.

Nearly every house in Beverly Hills/Morgan Park is within walking distance of a Chicago Park District park or playlot. Many of these sites offer seasonal sports, swimming pools, preschool activities, summer camps, fine arts programming, fitness classes, multi-purpose rooms, and more.
CPD Park Advisory Councils
The Beverly Area Planning Association invites neighbors to participate in Park Advisory Councils (PAC) for their local park. PACs promote ways for the community to better utilize the Chicago Park District’s programs and facilities; provide communication to the Chicago Park District on matters relating to their parks; increase community awareness of Chicago Park District projects; provide the community with a vehicle through which park information can be shared; and assist in locating alternate funding sources to enhance park facilities. Dan Ryan Woods – Forest Preserves of Cook County
Beverly Hills/Morgan Park residents are fortunate to have easy access to the 257-acre Dan Ryan Woods, part of Cook County’s network of forest preserves. The visitor’s center is located at 8700 S. Western Ave.
The Dan Ryan Woods includes sledding and snowboarding hills, historic aqueducts, fitness stairs, picnic groves and a mile-long paved loop that connects to the Major Taylor Bike Trail. For nature enthusiasts, the Dan Ryan Woods is home to several native plants, animals and migratory birds. Classes and events are offered regularly. Beverly Hills/Morgan Park residents are stewards of some of Chicago’s most distinctive architecture. The community is home to the Ridge Historic District, one of the largest urban districts on the National Register of Historic Places, as well as three Chicago Historic Districts and several individual Chicago Landmark properties.
