Throw Back Thursdays 

 

BAPA and 19th Ward Ald. Matt O’Shea host activities, fun and food for young families at the free 19th Ward Throw Back Thursdays, June 1, 8 and 15, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at community locations. Events celebrate a different era with music and instructor-led activities, and are held weather-permitting.  

June 1 – Maggie Cosme Park, 9201 S. Longwood Dr. Celebrate the 1960s! Kids are encouraged to decorate their bikes, wagons or strollers with bright colors, flowers and peace signs. Shannon Ward will provide live music from the 1960s, and there will be high energy activity led by an instructor. 

June 8 – Graver Park, 1518 E. 102nd Pl. Celebrate the 1970s! Kids are encouraged to decorate their bikes, wagons or strollers with their glitziest disco designs. Enjoy the sounds of the 1970s with a disco freeze dance game led by F45 Training.  

June 15, McKiernan Park, 10714 S. Sawyer Ave. Celebrate the 1980s. Kids are encouraged to decorate their bikes, wagons or strollers in honor of the 1985 Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears. Wear your favorite Chicago Bears apparel and participate in the Super Bowl Shuffle Game.
