St. John Fisher Gym Named for Conner Lowry

St, John Fisher Gym Named for Conner Lowry

At a ceremony held in late January, the gymnasium at St. John Fisher School was dedicated to and named for Conner T. Lowry as he was remembered for his love for his community and his school (he was a proud Fisher Falcon and 2002 graduate), and for his sacrifice for the freedom of our country. United States Marine, Lowry was killed Mar. 1, 2012 while running combat operations in Afghanistan. He was 24.

The Conner T. Lowry Memorial Fund was established in his honor to fund programs that support St. John Fisher School and students, and the Road Home Program that serves military veterans. Recent upgrades to the St. John Fisher gym were made thanks to the Fund.

According to Lowry’s mother, Modie Lavin, his motto was “Live life large.” An anti-bullying message has been added to his motto, and the wording in the gym’s center court reads, “Conner T. Lowry Gymnasium: Live Life Kind.”
