Shop 19 Summer Sidewalk Sale

Shop, play and dine in the neighborhood this weekend! Dozens of 19th Ward retailers will line the sidewalks with sale merchandise Fri., Aug. 19 and Sat., Aug. 20 starting at 10 a.m. Al fresco dining and information on upcoming children’s classes and programs are also part of the event.

The Shop19 Summer Sidewalk Sale is sponsored by the Morgan Park/Beverly Hills Business Association, the 95th Street Business Association and the Mt. Greenwood Community and Business Association.

Participants include a wide variety of locally owned and operated businesses from the entire neighborhood, including the 8900 to 11900 blocks of Western Avenue; 95th Street; 99th Street and Walden Parkway; 103rd Street between Longwood Drive and Wood Street; 107th Street and Hale Avenue; and 111th Street.

In addition to great shopping and dining, there’s fun for the kids! Saturday’s festivities include a petting zoo and pony rides at the 30th annual County Fair Fest at County Fair Foods, 10800 S. Western Ave., Aug. 20, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Later, head over to Horse Thief Hollow, 10426 S. Western Ave., for its annual Summer Swelter parking lot party beginning at 5 p.m. The popular outdoor event includes craft beers from local breweries, tacos, live music, live art, entertainment from the Chicago Pyrotechnic Fire Dancers and more!
