Beverly Country Club – the band, not the location – will be rocking and rolling at BAPA’s final 2022 Porch Concert Fri., Oct. 14, 6 to 8 p.m. The band features South Side talent, with the musicians hailing from the Beverly/Morgan Park and Blue Island area. BAPA invites neighbors to join in celebrating BAPA’s 75th anniversary that night – Oct. 14 is the date of BAPA’s incorporation!
The concert location will be announced soon on social media; Porch Concert blocks are selected based on the number of residents who are BAPA members.
“This year’s Porch Concerts were absolutely amazing, and we’re expecting the October concert to be a grand finale to a great year,” said BAPA Executive Director Mary Jo Viero. “It will be extra special as we celebrate BAPA’s 75 years of commitment to our community.”
The music series was introduced during the pandemic as a way to provide paid work for musicians unable to perform at conventional venues and to safely bring neighbors together to socialize outdoors. Now in their third year, the Porch Concerts attract crowds of more than 100 area neighbors to enjoy family-friendly, block party style evenings with great music, food, and more.
Porch Concerts are open to all Beverly/Morgan Park neighbors. Bring chairs and a cooler, and plan to purchase a treat from the featured food truck. Porch Concert T-shirts are available for $20 each in adult sizes.
Membership donations at all levels are appreciated and help BAPA to support Beverly/Morgan Park neighbors with programs that enhance local businesses and schools, safety, beautification, and our historic community. Even though Porch Concert contest is now over, your BAPA membership or renewal donation goes a long way in keeping our neighborhood, safe, friendly, and rocking! Learn more at bapa.org/support.
