Business Support

Thriving businesses are the backbone of a healthy community. BAPA works with local and city business organizations to provide quality services to our community’s small business owners. BAPA focuses in on providing resources and opportunities that will help local businesses boost their brands and sales. We work to enhance the community’s commercial areas by promoting local businesses through The Villager, the BAPA website, the Villager Weekly Report and social media. We also advocate for commercial development and small business recruitment. BAPA works hand in hand with the 95th Street Business Association, Morgan Park/Beverly Hills Business Association, Mount Greenwood Community and Business Association, 19th Ward office, and other business-oriented community partners. Together, we assist and inform current businesses and also help those looking to open in the neighborhood.

SCORE Business Mentoring

SCORE business mentor Kevin Scanlan is available by appointment at the BAPA office on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings to help entrepreneurs learn more about business start-up, finding funding, expanding their current businesses, managing cash flow and marketing. SCORE volunteer mentors are experienced business executives and entrepreneurs who share their expertise to help small businesses succeed.  They work one-on-one to help business owners resolve challenges and achieve positive results. Mentoring is free and offered by appointment only.
