Performance Benefits Area Theatre Groups

The pandemic forced live theatre venues to go dark for a year, resulting in serious loss of revenue.  The Lauryn family is producing online performances of “Chapatti” to benefit Beverly Theatre Guild, Stray Dog Theatre, Gaelic Park Players, and Curtain Call Theatre.  The show will be recorded and available for at Showtix4u.com, an internet streaming platform, Fri., Apr. 9 and Sat., Apr. 17, 7 p.m., and Sun., Apr. 18, 3 p.m.

“Chapatti” is a two-person play by Irish playwright Christian O’Reilly.  It mixes heartache and gentle comedy, and explores serious themes; the producers do not recommend this show for younger or more sensitive audiences.

The Lauryns have many theater credits in acting and directing; Gail and Dave will perform, Arial will direct and Eric will assist.

To get tickets, go to  www.showtix4u.com and enter Beverly Theatre Guild search box; a link and log-in code will be emailed. Each $10 admission will access one device, so a household can take advantage of one admission.  From every $10 admission the Lauryns will donate $7.20 to the theatre group selected by the patron and the balance will cover the hosting fee.  Chapatti” will be presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
