BACinemaDie Hard,” Weds., Dec. 4, 7:30 p.m., Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St. The most action-packed Christmas movie ever made, or the most Christmas-packed action movie ever made? Die Hard follows the story of Bruce Willis as John McClane, fighting terrorists amidst holiday cheer. Tickets: $6 or $5/BAC members. 

Castle Concert Series: Michael Peter Smith & Anne Hills, Sat., Dec. 14, 6:30-9 p.m. Givins Beverly Castle, 10244 S. Longwood Dr. The concert series fundraiser benefiting the Castle continues with this stunning folk duo. Described as “the greatest songwriter in the English language” by Rolling Stone, Smith teams up with “one of contemporary music’s premier vocalists, Hills, combining their considerable talents for a good cause. Suggested donation: $32.50.  Tickets/info: 

BACinemaHappy Christmas,” Weds., Dec. 18, 7:30 p.m., Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St.  Featuring performances from Anna Kendrick and Melanie Lynsky , the film, shot on grainy 16mm film, has the look and feel of a modern holiday dramedy viewed through the lens of an old tree ornament. Q&A with the Chicago Writer/Director Joe Swanberg follows the 7:30 showing of this contemporary Christmas movie. Tickets $6 or $5/BAC members. 

Givins Beverly Castle: Acoustic Open Mic Night, Thurs., Dec. 19Givins Beverly Castle, 10244 S. Back after last year’s sold out performance, this stand up comes equipped with a cash bar and free parking for New Year Eve‘s revelers. Tickets: $40 or $36/BAC members.
