BAPA Home Expo
The new Home Expo will host a variety of home renovation experts and trades offering information and ideas on aspects of tending, improving and restoring vintage homes, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Talk to interior designers, wood restoration experts, people who offer eco-friendly materials, and companies that offer roofing, heating and air conditioning, plumbing, decking, paint and more.
Home Tour
This year’s Beverly/Morgan Park Home Tour takes a look at how savvy renovations, inspired decorating, new construction and down-to-the studs restoration add an exciting variety to traditional architectural designs in our historic community.
The Tour begins at Bethany Union Church, founded in the spring of 1872 – just months after the Great Chicago Fire. The church was founded as and remains a multi-denominational congregation.
Also on the tour are a stunning home built just ten years ago with in an updated Tudor style; a handsome home designed by Murray Hetherington and built on a beautiful lot nestled at the edge of the woods; a charming central Beverly house with a brand new, custom-designed kitchen; a lovely North Beverly home with a warm and welcoming traditional appeal; and a Longwood Drive historic home undergoing a cellar-to-rooftop restoration.
Home Tour attendees will get a chance to walk through each of these outstanding houses for an up-close look at the details of design, decorating and lifestyle. Experiences that include craft beer and specialty food tasting, the Calumet Paint and Wallpaper paint showcase, gardening information and more are included in the tour.
For more than four decades, BAPA’s Beverly/Morgan Park Home Tour has been opening the doors to some of the neighborhood’s most remarkable private residences. Tickets $30 in advance at www.bapa.org or $35 on the day of the tour. Homes are open from 12 to 5 p.m; all tours are self-guided and must begin by 3 p.m.
