Motown Nation Band to Rock AND Benefit Event
A New Direction Beverly Morgan Park (AND), the community’s only domestic violence agency, will host its 2019 fundraiser sat., Oct. 26, 7 to 10 p.m., Ridge Country Club, 10522 S. California. Motown Nation, a Motown and 1960s hits rock band, will be playing hits from Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Frankie Valli, Neil Diamond, the Supremes and more.
The benefit is AND’s largest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds benefitting the agency’s domestic violence counseling, children’s therapy and outreach programs. Tickets are $75 and include a three-hour open bar and hors d’oeuvres.
The event features a grand raffle and silent auction. The grand raffle prize, donated by Tom Molloy of Molloy & Associates, Inc., is a five night/six-day vacation in Costa Rica in a newly renovated 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo, located along a secluded beach in Playa Flamingo. The prize includes a $1000 voucher towards the winner’s purchase of flights. Raffle tickets are $20 each and can be purchased online in advance at AND2019.givesmart.com or the night of the event.
Jan Rauen, AND board member and auction coordinator, is excited about the silent auction which will offer items ranging from experiences to sports tickets to jewelry.
“We always get so many thoughtful donations,” Rauen said, adding that topping the is a private five-course dinner and wine pairing for eight people prepared and enjoyed in the comfort of one’s own home, with acclaimed chef Tony Quartaro. Chef Tony worked on the west and east coasts before finding his way to Chicago. At Formento’s he earned a Three Star Review from the Chicago Tribune, made best new restaurant lists, and took home honors for Best Chef de Cuisine at the Jean Banquet Awards. The dinner package includes a 30-minute consultation with Chef Tony to tailor a menu, including an appetizer, salad, pasta, main and dessert course. Chef Tony and his staff will prepare, serve, and clear this delicious meal for the winner.
Individuals and businesses can become a sponsor to underwrite a variety of facets of the popular event. Sponsorships range from $500 to $5,000.
