Head for Country on Western

The Country On Western Music Festival is entering its 4th year of offering a country music experience that can’t be found anywhere else on the South Side.

South City Revival — Americana-rockers and Chicago natives — have teamed up with Mary and Bernard Callaghan to bring together some of the very best up and coming artists from Chicago and beyond at Barney Callaghan’s Pub, 10618 S. Western, Fri., July 15 and Sat., July 16.

Callaghan’s gate off the pub’s Western Avenue parking lot to serve up some great bands and delicious food. Concert-goers can indulge in country music of all varieties, from traditional swing to americana; alt-country to outlaw; folk to bluegrass.

On Friday, doors open at 6 p.m., and the lineup features Kelsey Waldon, David Quinn and Lydia Cash.

On Saturday, the doors open at 2 p.m., and the lineup features South City Revival, Liam Durkin Band, Mike Ginnini & the Top Tiers, Painted Canyon, Shannon Baker Band, Back Country Boys, MC Whiskey & Friends, winding up with Sunfallen late Saturday night in the Bar.

Admission passes range from $20 to $40. Find details and buy tickets at countryonwestern.com.
