My husband and I value our beautiful neighborhood and BAPA has played a big part in keeping it that way. From ensuring that the historical nature of the architecture is preserved to community building events like Porch Concerts, BAPA is a major player in our Village in the City.

I support BAPA because I love all the fun community events they plan and execute so well.

     I greatly value what BAPA brings to the community.  The BAPA Villager newspaper is an invaluable resource for everything going on around the community areas of Beverly and Morgan Park, from food to art to music to discounts at local businesses.  They also have fun things to do in the paper, like scavenger hunts and similar.  I've discovered some of my favorite businesses through BAPA events and promotions.  Other neighborhoods certainly can have their perks as well, but BAPA truly sets Beverly and Morgan Park a cut above, and that is why I am proud to say that I am a member.

I grew up in Beverly, and though I haven't lived there for many years, I am a BAPA supporter. No matter where I live, I know it matters to have a robust and caring community-based approach to planning and development that supports people and businesses. BAPA has set the standard for community organizations across the city for many years, and I'm proud of the many ways they keep the neighborhood knit together. As a longtime BAPA supporter it’s a no-brainer that our investment in BAPA is also an investment in our family, friends and neighbors. We all make up this wonderful community and BAPA works hard to bring us all together! We enjoy so many BAPA events throughout the year where neighbors can enjoy one another’s company, but BAPA does so much more!

I have loved living in Beverly for a long time. Our community has incredible strengths too numerous to list here (for more detail, see The Villager!). But I have never taken these strengths for granted. We face challenges and headwinds, including municipal and county government that seem to become less effective and more dysfunctional with each passing year. Beverly is successful in the face of these challenges because of a strong tradition of local civic involvement. BAPA is fundamental to leading and organizing this involvement. As a result, I believe BAPA has been critical to our continued viability. BAPA can only make this happen if we provide the resources. I happily support BAPA financially and hope my neighbors will also consider making this investment.

Over the years what we have come to appreciate most about BAPA are two things: inclusive efforts to make everyone feel welcome and an increasingly robust effort to sustain a lively arts, culture, and small business scene. But honestly, we appreciate all the wide-ranging efforts led by BAPA to support the Beverly area’s history, nature, streetscapes, architecture, home values, small businesses, safety and community-building. The variety of events and programs sponsored or supported by BAPA is worthy of everyone’s support! We think BAPA is a huge part of why Beverly remains a thriving and desirable place to live.

So many people see the individual events that BAPA sponsors as being enjoyable little get-togethers, and don't necessarily see the bigger picture. BAPA has been dedicated to bringing neighbors together as a community for nearly 80 years, but the bigger picture is the pride, stability, and strength that these events foster for the neighborhood. Being a member of BAPA supports the organization and allows it to not only sponsor the events, but also promote, protect, and advocate for the community.
