St. Barnabas Parish to Honor First Responders

Recognizing the critical roles first responders play in our community and society, St. Barnabas Catholic Church will honor firefighters, police officers and paramedics /EMTs at a special Mass on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

The celebration is an opportunity for parishioners and community members to thank them for their service and to pray for their health and safety.  First responders from municipal, county, state and federal public safety departments are invited to participate in uniform.

The Liturgy, which will be celebrated by Chicago Police Department Chaplain, Fr. Dan Brandt and Chicago Fire Department Chaplain, Fr. John McNalis.  If you would like to add the name of a first responder who lost their life in the line of duty to the list that will be read during the Mass, please contact Kitty Ryan at (773)779-1166 ext.226 or at ktryan@stbarnabasparish.org. All First responders are invited to wear their uniforms and to participate in the Gathering Procession. The Liturgy will include a special blessing and will begin promptly at 10 a.m. February 3rd at the church, located at 10134 S. Longwood Drive.
