Smith Village hosts free support group Tuesday, July 16 to answer caregiver questions about hospice, palliative care
Smith Village, a life plan community at 2320 W. 113th Place in the Beverly/Morgan Park area of Chicago, is inviting local residents to a free memory care support group at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, for caregivers of people who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
Guest speaker Lisa Jackson, patient care administrator of Vitas Healthcare in Chicagoland, will talk about determining with a doctor’s help when a loved one may need hospice or palliative care and where to get it. The support group, hosted by Smith’s social service director of long-term care Diane Morgan, will end with an open discussion to answer whatever questions attendees may have. Light refreshments will be served when the meeting concludes at 7:30 p.m.
