“There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour deducted to the ceremony known as afternoon tea,” wrote Henry James in 1880-81 in The Portrait of a Lady.
What better way to celebrate the arrival of the new season than to attend the annual RHS Spring Hat Tea? Enjoy sweets and savories and several varieties of tea at the historic Graver-Driscoll House, and view the special exhibit, “Hats and Accessories from 1865 to 1970.” Visitors are encouraged to wear their own spring hats!
The Spring Hat Tea will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at 10621 S. Seeley Ave. The price of the event is $25 per person, $10 for children ages 10 to 14. Reservations are required; call 773-881-1675 or email ridgehistory@hotmail.com.
