The kids are out of school and the entire family has some downtime. So why not catch a movie that works as a both a gripping children’s fantasy and a dark, atmospheric work of speculative fiction for inquisitive adults from one of the masters of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre, Neil Gaiman? A critically acclaimed animated film that blends 3D-Animation with Stop-Motion animation, Coraline is also directed by a master of the animated form, Henry Selick, best known for The Nightmare Before Christmas. This story of a young girl who discovers a fantastic alternate dimension with a dark secret will similarly transport viewers to an alternate dimension on its tenth anniversary.
Coraline is rated PG—some scenes may be too scary for particularly young children.
