Bookie’s bookstore, 10326 S. Western, invites area families to join in a monthlong scavenger hunt to find the iconic, striped-shirt clad children’s book character Waldo in 25 participating local businesses.
Check in at Bookies or another participating business for a passport then hunt down the Waldo display while you’re shopping local. Be prepared for businesses to hide Waldo in hard-to-find spots – that’s part of the fun! Once you find Waldo, get your passport stamped and keep shopping.
Throughout the month, prizes will be awarded to players by Bookie’s. On Sat., July 29, enjoy assorted hoopla, prizes, and refreshments for kids and families at a big Waldo shindig at Bookie’s.
Find Waldo Local launched in 2012, and since then, hundreds of indie bookstores have hosted successful Waldo scavenger hunts across America. It’s a creative and fun way to highlight all that’s wonderful about local indie businesses and to highlight the unique character of our neighborhood while promoting the “Shop Local” message.
