Beverly/Morgan Park Garden Walk is July 9

BAPA will host the 4th Annual Beverly/Morgan Park Garden Walk on Sun., July 9, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a rain date of July 16.

The Garden Walk will begin with check-in at the Edna White Community Garden, 1850 W. Monterey Ave., where people are welcome to walk among the beautiful plantings, observe butterflies and bees from the new observatory, and visit with sponsors.

Featured gardens are located throughout the neighborhood. Each stop is distinctive for its style, variety of plantings, and unique beauty. Whether you’re going home to a sunny or shady yard, a mature garden or a freshly dug flower bed, you’ll be inspired by the hard work, creative vision and delight shared by local gardeners.

Among the private spots being showcased are an expansive vegetable and pollinator garden dotted with colorful artworks on a property that has been in the owner’s family since the 1920s,  a serene almost hidden garden that doubles as a butterfly sanctuary, a lovely yard where a wide variety of unusual plants and flowers shares space with an enticing pool, and more.

In addition to touring some of the area’s most beautiful gardens, the event includes an array of garden experiences including beverage and food tastings from local restaurants and shops, and entertainment.

Garden Walk tickets are $30 in advance at and $35 on the day of the event.
