BAPA’s Ridge Run & Memorial Day Parade

BAPA invites runners of all ages, paces and distances to participate in the Ridge Run and Memorial Day Parade on Memorial Day, Mon., May 29. BAPA’s most popular event, the Ridge Run brings people from all over the city and suburbs to experience how our amazing community comes together so celebrate Chicago’s best neighborhood!

Ridge Run registration is open at bapa.org, and anyone using the code LOVE 23 by midnight on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14 will save $5 on sign-up.

Applications are also being accepted for the Memorial Day Parade. Find a printable application at bapa.org on the Ridge Run event page or email bapa@bapa.org to request a copy.

Choose Your Pace

Runners can compete for overall wins or simply race to place in age categories ranging from 6 to 80 or beat their personal best time. Running with teams is a great way to make the Ridge Run fun. Sign up a team of your colleagues, club members or family and friends online.

Parade units can march, ride, or dance down Longwood Drive following the last of the Ridge Run participants.

Spectators can line the race route, cheering on runners, playing motivating music, and offering water.

The Ridge Run, long considered Chicago’s favorite neighborhood race, takes participants through the Ridge Historic District to run the 10K run, 5K run and walk and Youth Mile run routes. Races start and finish at Ridge Park, 9625 S. Longwood Dr.

The Beverly /Morgan Park Memorial Day Parade follows the last of the Ridge Run participants, starting at 110th Place and traveling north down Longwood Drive to Ridge Park. Run and parade spectators and participants are invited to enjoy food, beverages, information from event sponsors, and activities, including the popular Tot Trot.

Advance registration fees are 5K, $40; 10K, $50; 5K and 10K Ridge Run Challenge, $80; 5K walk (untimed), $25; and Youth Mile, $20. Race day registration fees go up by $5 for all races. The fee for active military personnel is $15.
