Thanks for a Fantastic Season
BAPA brought music, food, and community to every corner of Beverly/Morgan Park in 2022.
We appreciate all the talented musicians who performed, and the flocks of music lovers who came out to enjoy our concerts this year! To the vendors, sponsors, and volunteers who added special touches to our outdoor concert series, thank you for your partnership! As for our neighbors who joined BAPA as part of our Porch Concert Challenge, we couldn’t have put on another successful season without you.
BAPA's Porch Concerts Become a Membership Challenge
BAPA’s popular Porch Concert Series came back with a twist—as a contest! This year, we divided Beverly/Morgan Park into five sections and offered one free porch concert to a block in each area. Neighbors competed to get the most BAPA members on their block.
The Porch Concert Party came with everything needed for a fantastic block party! We provided a two-hour live performance that’s absolutely free (though the band appreciates tips!). BAPA also supplied tents, tables, a popcorn machine, and more. A food truck and local craft beer were available for purchase. All you needed to bring is a chair!
How the Challenge Worked
- The map indicated for boundaries, concert dates, and contest deadlines. Each area had until two weeks before their concert date to get as many neighbors as possible to join BAPA.
- Neighbors were encouraged to spread the word about the contest and invite all the families on their block to join BAPA. Our new monthly membership offered an easy and budget-friendly way to join!
- BAPA announceed the winner two weeks before the concert date.
Why a Contest?
We decided to make the Porch Concert series a membership contest because of the incredible response to the concerts in 2021. We were celebrating BAPA’s 75th anniversary and wanted to engage more families as members so that we could continue supporting our community. Linking the concerts to membership seemed like a perfect fit. The more BAPA members on your block, the greater your chances of winning!
