BAPA Update

Memorial Day Ceremony

COVID-19 restrictions prevent BAPA from hosting the Beverly/Morgan Park Memorial Day Parade, but we will host a live-streamed Memorial Day ceremony beginning at 9:30 a.m., Mon., May 31. The ceremony will honor the people who have given their lives serving in the U.S. armed forces as well as veterans and people currently serving. The link will be available via BAPA’s Facebook. The Ridge Run will be held as a virtual event May 31 through June 7 with a live Ridge Run on Labor Day weekend. See page 1 for details.

History Mystery Bike Adventure: Summer Fun

Last summer, BAPA’s History Mystery Bike Adventure was a hit with local families. Retooled from BAPA’s old History Mystery Tour event, the 2020 version offered a different tour every month. The Adventure will return June 1 with just one map and all summer to track down the clues and solve the History Mystery puzzle. Look for the all new game in The Villager and at bapa.org.

Garden Walk Set for July 11

BAPA’s first Garden Walk was very popular last fall, and we’re eager to host an even better event on Sun., July 11. This month, the Garden Walk committee will be viewing and selecting gardens in Beverly/Morgan ParkDo you have a garden to recommend? Email bapa@bapa.org with garden recommendation in subject line and the gardener’s name, address and contact information in the email.

Dog Friendly Area

Do you think Beverly/Morgan Park should have a Dog Friendly Area (DFA) where owners can bring their pets for exercise and interaction with other canines? BAPA is looking into the possibility of creating a DFA at a local park. Area residents who want to get involved in the project or who endorse the idea can contact Mary Jo Viero, mjviero@bapa.org
