The Beverly Area Planning Association’s Health Expo will return for its second year in an expanded form this month.
The event will include nearly 50 health- and wellness-related businesses based right here in Beverly/Morgan Park, Sat., Feb. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Morgan Park Academy, 2153 W. 111th St. The MPA auditorium is a larger venue than the Smith Village locale that hosted the inaugural event last winter, then called the BAPA Health Summit.
“We’re trying to improve and make it bigger and better,” BAPA Executive Director Mary Jo Viero said. “It’s another great opportunity for us to highlight and showcase the health-related businesses in our community.”
Businesses from a variety of different areas of health will be represented, Viero said, including fitness, nutrition, sports and orthopedic, and mental health. Tastings will be offered by a few businesses, while others will have demonstrations planned. Chicago TV personality Val Warner will be at the expo to moderate a few of the panels.
Healthy treats and smoothies will be offered by local favorites like Bani’s Beets, Southtown Health Foods, and Live and Believe (LAB) Nutrition.
“Southtown Health is amazing,” Viero said. “They have anything you need and give great advice and information on the best products.”
Acupuncture, meditation and yoga specialists will be among the others at the expo.
“We’re looking forward to showing people the huge number of health and fitness-related businesses in our neighborhood, making sure everyone is aware of them and knows that the resources they need are right here,” Viero said.
