BAPA Clean and Green 2024: Help Keep Beverly/Morgan Park Beautiful

By Davia Douglas

Each year the 19th Ward Alderman’s Office and BAPA come together for an all-neighborhood clean-up day in honor of Earth Day. We use this time to clear away winter debris, pick up litter, and reset many of our high traffic neighborhood locations like our local parks, transportation corridors, school yards, and community spaces.  This is our chance to get outside and make a tangible impact on the cleanliness and beauty of our neighborhood while getting together with friends, family, and neighbors-new and old!

Why It Matters:

By participating in Neighborhood Clean-Up Day, we’re not just picking up trash – we’re building connections, fostering a sense of pride in our community, and making a positive impact that extends far beyond the boundaries of our street. Together, we can create a cleaner, greener, and more vibrant neighborhood that we can all be proud to call home.

How to Get Involved:

To participate, all you have to do is:

Sign Up: Ready to roll up your sleeves and join us? Sign up by completing the volunteer form to let us know your neighborhood location is covered, receive important updates about the event, and reserve your 2024 Love Where You Live Volunteer T-Shirt.

Spread the Word: Know someone who would love to lend a hand? Spread the word and invite friends, family, and neighbors to join us for a day of community spirit and camaraderie on our social media platforms.

Supplies: Garbage bags and rakes can be retrieved at the BAPA office the day before and/or morning of the event. Just let us know on your volunteer registration form. We would recommend you bring gardening gloves, trash bags, and any other supplies you think might come in handy.

Stay Safe: Remember to dress comfortably and wear sunscreen. Stay hydrated and be mindful of your surroundings as we work together to make our neighborhood shine.

So, mark your calendars for Saturday, April 27, rally your friends, and get ready to make a difference! Let’s show our neighborhood some love and make this year’s Clean & Green the best one yet.

I can’t wait to see you there!
