All aspiring professionals ages 14 to 24 are invited team up with friends and take the survivor challenge at the Advice Beyond the Classroom “Surviving the Extreme: Working in Efficient Teams” event Wed., May 18, 7 p.m., Beverly Arts Center (BAC), 2407 W. 111th St. The free, team-based, interactive competition is session #4 of the Professional ABCs series.

Taking a break from the popular workshop series format, session #4 is a game style competition, and up to 20 teams of five people each will use the best of their critical thinking and team building skills to navigate the survivor challenge. Register a team or sign up to join at team at bapa.org.
Featured speakers at the event will be Advice Beyond the Classroom Nick Lomaglio; Payton Condon, Villanova University 2022 graduate and incoming Associate at PWC; and Stephen Viz, University of Notre Dame MBA student. Cash Prizes for winning teams are 1st place- $300, 2nd place- $200, and 3rd place – $100.
Founded by neighborhood resident Nick LoMaglio, Advice Beyond the Classroom (ABC) is a unique mentoring enterprise for helping teens find their trajectory for meaningful careers. The free Professional ABCs workshops series is open to area students ages 14 to 24 interested creating a foundation for their future professional success and formulating a competitive advantage for their professional careers.
“It has been incredible to see students from all different schools in the Beverly area come together and learn to collaborate and network in a professional setting,” LoMaglio said. “The most exciting part of it all is that we’re just getting started.”
The ABC workshops are both fun and informative, offering interactive presentations and opportunities to network with and learn real-world professional skills and financial literacy basics from successful business persons, as well as college and high school students who have taken active leadership roles in the program.
BAPA and the BAC are partnering with Advice Beyond the Classroom to present the popular workshop series. Reservations are appreciated and can be made at bapa.org. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the workshop begins at 7:30 p.m.
